Hi everyone,
We adopted a 1.5 year old female scottish fold cat ~3 weeks ago. Shortly after, she was in heat for nearly 10 days and it all stopped last week on Wednesday.
When not in heat, she's quite calm and is not very vocal unless she wants to go outside or is hungry. Her meows are pretty regular.
Yesterday though, my BF and I had sex, the door to our bedroom was closed. After that, our cat started acting strangely, as though she's in heat again. She was making the same sounds and screams for the whole night, was rubbing herself on the furniture and wanted lots of attention. Which is strange because she hasn't responded like this to us having sex earlier.
In the morning she was kind of usual again. So firstly, it's just not physiologically possible for her to be in heat again after such a short period, right?
Secondly, what could cause such behaviour randmly? Do cats react to human hormones/pheromones released during sex?
We're planning on sterilising her ASAP, we wanted her first to get used to us and her new home.
