Having a lot of anxiety about roommate wanting me to rehome my cat; any tips?

I have a 2 year old deaf cat, Sila, who I adopted about 4 months ago. My roommate has a 2 year old male, Rozzy.

Sila is very attached to me and affectionate, but attacks Rozzy whenever they see each other. She has torn out fur and acts aggresive for seemingly nothing.

We've tried slowly introducing them several times but Sila always reverts to aggression. We've taken her to the vet, we've tried meds, we've tried catnip and Feliway. We now keep them separated by a cat gate, but Sila spends all day pacing by it, howling and trying to get to the other side to attack Rozzy. So I filled our house with stimulating toys for her, but she is only interested in Rozzy.

I feel horrible for Rozzy. Seriously, I hate that my cat hurt him. I also feel bad for Sila. My roommate wants me to rehome Sila but I feel so so awful about it, especially because she's been abandoned twice before and she trusts me so much.

I'm getting desperate, please help us
