To start off, I've never owned a pet before, let alone a dog. My family and I decided to settle down on a newborn Maltese and we try our best to take care of her and monitor her as much as possible. We try our best not to give her human food and we assume that we can teach her how to eat by herself by leaving out enough food for the whole day and nothing more, hoping that she'll learn how to spread out the food consumption on her own.
Yada yada, my dad ended up giving her pork bone, about an inch big and our dog ended up choking on it. She started coughing and wining and I ran to her and pushed on her chest/stomach/throat area to try to perform some sort of Heimlich I guess, and I felt her cough it in. So, I know for a fact that she has the pork bone in her digestive system, and Maltese are fairly small dogs, I'm wondering if she'll be fine.
I did some research and found out that pork bone is actually the worst you could give to a dog let alone a puppy, so rest assured, I told my dad to never feed her pork bone again and be more safe next time. However, just recently, my dog threw up and I found a piece of the bone in her vomit. I have no clue as to why she would vomit but she did. (Maybe because she's just had her vaccination yesterday?)
Will my dog be fine? I'm hoping to God that the bone will pass through her digestive system normally, but I don't want to just let it go. Should I see a vet?
