I REALLY want a green-cheeked Conure, but my mom isn’t a fan of birds.

When I say she isn’t a fan, I mean she hates them. I on the other hand absolutely adore them. I really want a green-cheeked Conure and even said I’d pay for the bird, cage, food, toys, and whatever else. The only thing I want her to pay for is the vet stuff.

She said it’s not about the money, just that she doesn’t like them. I really want to convince her that birds aren’t bad at all. The main reason she doesn’t like them is because they look “creepy”. I said I would keep it in my room when she’s home so she wouldn’t have to see it, but she’s so stuck on her first statement.

I’m normally not one to beg for things, this is just so important to me though. I’ve done all the research I could on the internet and asking veterinarians and breeders. I’ve had past experiences with birds and I think I’m ready to care for one on my own.

Any ways to convince her? I guess I could try to tell her all the things I’ve done to learn and care for them but I’m not sure. I have that feeling that all she needs is a good experience with them and she’ll be attached to them. The same thing happened with my sisters cat, (lives with my sister, but used to live at our house).
