My cat went missing on the 22nd of this month, and we’ve been so lucky with the abnormally warm weather of the Midwest. Unfortunately, it’s started to snow, and my heart is breaking because I don’t know how long he can survive out there. We’ve done everything we can - we’ve stayed up until really late to greet him if he comes back, put out blankets that smell like us an him, food, water, heated sardines and tuna. We have signs everywhere in our neighborhood. We called shelters and hospitals. He isn’t chipped or collared (long story, I was under the impression we’d gotten it done). Also, he’s a black cat, now really vulnerable in the snow. Before we took him in, he and his adopted brother were part of a pack of community cats, so I have a little hope that he knows how to feed himself and stay protected. No one in my family has gotten sleep since he left and we don’t know what else to do.
