My sister is 30 years old and single and told me the other day that she wants to get a cat. As we know, the literature has significantly progressed regarding the risk of aquiring toxoplasmosis from cats. As most cats have toxoplasmosis, and the disease is devastating to the brain and mind. The news doesn't talk about it and I don't blame them, if they do, then 30 million cat owners are going to have a nervous breakdown and riot in the streets. I have no idea what to do but I am worried, how to I tell my sister about the risks? I told her its one of those things, once you get it, its incurable, they is no treatment, there is no coming back, you mind is completely gone and they shovel you off to the assisted living home for 10K per month. I am really depressed about the whole situation. Any advice, how did you handle it after the news came out about toxoplasmosis and you know your family wanting cats? What should I do?
