i’m currently in college and i’ve been wanting a cat for years. i’m 20 years old and i’m going to be a junior this coming year. the only issue is that I go stay with my parents during winter, spring, and summer break which may stress a future cat out by moving around that much. I have a job and an apartment by myself which would be perfect for having a cat. the reason behind me wanting one is that I have multiple mental illnesses and my therapist suggested that it could help my mental state. it would be an emotional support animal (ESA) which would also help with the “pet rent”. I just need advice on if right now is a good time to get one or not. I really don’t want to put a cat in a stressful situation by moving around so much. would that be too much for a cat? any advice about this would help.
