Advice Needed: Helping part of a bonded pair of pugs move on from the loss of the other.

Let me say up front that this is not a post about me coping with the loss of my dog... but how to ensure that the other thrives. Hopefully this is not against the rules.

My rescue pugs were a bonded pair and quite inseparable. Yesterday, the male collapsed and died on our morning walk, quite unexpectedly. (He had a lot of health problems from his life before rescue, so not totally unexpectedly... Knew it was coming sooner rather than later.) I was walking both dogs at the time, so I believe my female pug "understood" that he was gone.

I could use some advice on how to help her move on, so to speak. How do bonded pairs cope? Do they simply move on? Obviously, I recognize that I am grieving and may be projecting my own grief process onto my dog. However, I do feel that my Velcro pug is extra clingy now... But otherwise in good health.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
