My 1yo cat got spayed today around noon and we got her back at around 5pm. Prior to the surgery, my cat has never gotten sick and is healthy.
She was still sleeping when we got her and when she woke up, she vomited white foam (I think due to the anaesthesia). She tried to eat and drink but just ended up slumping on her bowl. She was very unresponsive even after 3hrs of being home. She also vomited white foam two times more and remained very lethargic.
She did pee (a lot) and pooed successfully, but when we checked, her gums were white, and her ears and paws were cold, we contacted the vet and were told that we needed to bring her back to the clinic immediately. She's staying there for the night, but I was wondering: is she having a serious reaction to the procedure that I should be worried about? Or is what she'd experienced a fairly common post spay reaction?
