Gradual Increase in Kitten's Meowing and Biting?

I have a kitten who is around 6 months old now that was a stray I rescued when she was around 8 weeks old (was living under a friends house with 5 other kittens and a mother). She has always been very social, energetic and sweet when she wasn't trying to play. I got her fixed around a month ago, and starting a bit before then it seems she's been meowing increasingly more for no apparent reason, usually just laying in a certain spot on the tile. She's had no problems eating, drinking or using the bathroom. She always has meowed a lot when I leave my place or keep her out of the room while I sleep (she'll keep me up otherwise), but not really while I'm near before this.

Additionally she's been very quick to bite when I pet her recently - before petting her was no problem and she'd rub up against me all the time for a long while, but now even when she's seemingly happy to see me when I get home I can only pet for 20 seconds or so before she starts to bite, but she's usually still purring when she does.

I've seen suggestions for solving similar problems involving getting another cat, but mine is quite aggressive towards other animals in general (hissing, growling, swatting at other cats and dogs she's encountered) so I don't think it'd be a good idea.

I called the vet and asked about it and they said they saw nothing wrong last time my kitten was in and that it could be her "teenage years" where they misbehave more often, but I still have my doubts. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing these behaviors or how I can curb them?
