Behavior change in my cat

Hello everyone, I hope ,that someone can give some advice. My husband and I have a 7 year old neutered cat. My husband rescued him from the streets when he was about 3 months old. When he was about 1 year old he started going outside, he was an indoor/outdoor cat for about 4 years. We moved and he‘s been indoor only for about 2 1/2 years now and he has adjusted very well. Everything was fine until about 2 mobths ago when we rescued a 5 month old spayed kitten. She is super sweet and obsessed with our other cats. He on the otherhand is not to sure about her. He has never been super cuddely and he would get mad if you annoyed him but he would never hiss or anything. I introduced the cats to eachother slowly over a course of about one month with them being in seperate rooms, and they still are when we are not home. But since a couple of weeks he is just hissing constantly when I pick him up or when the kitten tries to cuddle with him. He will groom her occasionally and lay next to her but then he had this whole peronality shift which is weird where he hisses and gets super mad at her. Any advice for what I could do?

Sorry for the long story, thanks to everyone helping in advance.
