Should I Get A Husky?

Once upon a time, I had a husky... and I loved her very much.

She’s still alive, just not with me.

Since then, I’ve started traveling, all over the world. I’m not talking weekend holidays, I’m talking four years of constant backpacking, although I’ve started to spend at least 90 days in every country nowadays.

And I miss having a dog. I miss having a husky.

I know how to take care of one... kinda :) I mean, I’ll be doing my best and a lot of mistakes but I did had one.

My concern is that - can I travel with one?

Leaving aside all the extra fees for planes and such... is it a good idea to have a dog on a RTW trip? He or she would have time to get used to a new place, as I don’t switch places that often anymore... but he’d have to travel by plane at least once every six months. And then are all the rules for quarantine when you bring a dog in a new country, that I have no idea about. I think they hold the dog for a while until they release it?

It’s not the first time I’ve asked myself this. So far my answer was always no - it’s too complicated.

But did anyone pull something like this off? My main concern is the health and happiness of the dog, not financial or logistical considerations.
