Hi everyone!
My 11-year-old cat has never had much interest in playing. I got her when she was just 1 and have spent a small fortune over the years trying to engage her with various cat toys, but she just doesn't want to play and seems content living a relatively boring life.
This is fine, of course - her call! - but lately she seems kind of bored and as if she is seeking my attention more often. And I'm at my wits' end about what to do about it!
All of her toys are apparently stupid, even though I rotate between them regularly, and no random object in the world is any fun at all for more than a minute. She has only ever been into cuddling on her own terms, so that's not what she is looking for either. Whether she agrees or not, she is well-fed and at a healthy weight. According to the vet, there's nothing wrong with her medically. I live a very boring life too, so there's also no change in routine which could have upset her.
I know all cats are different, but maybe someone here has a cat with a similar temperament and has had success with a particular toy? I would be so happy to receive any and all recommendations and suggestions. The little bastard can have anything she wants.
