I found my youngest cat (8 months, male) October 30th, 2018 on the streets and took him in. I knew it would take my older cat (5 years old, female) a while to get used to him since she hates other cats and will fight them. My kitten was only 2 weeks old when I took him in and bottle fed him. I kept them separated until he was 4 weeks and slowly introduced them. Of course, the older cat hated him and hissed constantly. At first, he was scared of her and would run away until slowly over the months he's become much braver. Currently, he is not afraid of her at all and will go out of his way to pounce on her even though she starts screaming and hitting him. I can tell he just wants to play because he never hisses at her or seriously attacks her like she does to him. He also does the same thing to my dog who will indulge him in play. However, I would say 75% of the time they just leave each other alone and there's peace and quiet. Sometimes, they'll nap a few feet away from each other. However, unfortunately, out of no where my oldest cat started peeing around the house. A few minutes ago she peed on the couch and my mom absolutely lost it. She's peed five other times in different places this week. I have three litter boxes overall for both of them. I keep them on our large screened in patio, where the older female has ALWAYS used her litter box out there even before the youngest kitten. We keep the door open all day and put them out there at night. My mom wants me to rehome one of them if the oldest keeps peeing. Obviously, this is not an option for me as I love both of them dearly and could never give them up. I just don't know why this whole peeing everywhere thing started and how to stop it. Any advice? Anyone experienced this and can give me some insight? Also, if it's the younger kittens fault how should I go about remedying this?
Additionally, the older female cat will hiss at the male kitten while doing the 'slow blink' so this confuses the hell out of me too...She is a huge cat and he is a small skinny thing.
