Hello.
I am in extreme need for help, but before you can help me I have to tell you a little about my current situation. I live in Brazil, in an urban area, and we are having right now an average of 2k people dying everyday from covid-19. Okay, a month ago a pregnant cat entered in my house, and after 2 weks of she staying 90% in my home while being free to roam out whenever she wanted, I've decided to adopt her (and keep her closed in my home, wich she didn't mind). We like each other a lot and I treat her very well. But today something happened.
3 stray cats stood above my ceiling and started to cry loudly. Right now it's midnight, and the trouble happened 20 minutes ago. They were super annoying and eventually woke most of my neighbours. This made me REALLY anxious, because I share the same building with 5 other families, and if the stray cats continue to do this, my neighbours may report me to the owner of the house I'm renting, and I may be forced to give my cat to someone else. I definetively don't want this to happen.
So what I did was to climb up in the ceiling and spook the cats away. One of them eventually came back 5 min later so I've thrown some water close to him to frighten him. I am actually very worried about all of this, because I have the habit of going to my girlfriend's house, and when I do that, I must leave my cat alone for the weekend. She does fine with it, but if those cats appear again and start to cry the whole night while I'm away, this may be the endgame. The neighbours would complain and I wouldn't be there to spook away the cats. I will probably not leave my house in this weekend, but in the next it will be my girlfriend's birthday and I just can't miss it.
My cat is pregnant, so I can't spay her yet. She is closed in my house and have no access to the outside, but yet the cats managed to smell her scent. Do I have any option to prevent this from happening again? Can I pass the weekend away without this happening?
Thank you for reading all of this, and for being prone to help.
Lika thanks you too
[EDIT: Okay, I've just checked a dictionary and now I think I can explain my issue better: My cat is pregnant but apparently also in "heat" (althought she doesn't want to mate and is very hostile to those stray cats). I believe that the stray cats are after her because they want to mate.]
