my vet keeps pushing me to spay my dog. call me crazy but I think it’s barbaric (and I also know nothing about getting an animal neutered or spayed) to do to an animal so young or at all... she is still a baby to me, hasn’t gone into heat but they keep saying it’s better for her health. i understand it decreases the risk of tumors and cancers but it’s strange to me how dogs are the only species that need to be spayed or neutered for their health and I also don’t know one unspayed or neutered dog that died of cancer. I’m just looking for someone to explain spaying to me and if I really should be getting my little girl spayed. If it is good for her health in the long run I most likely will do it as I don’t think I want more pups.
