I'm sure questions like this have been asked before but I keep getting so many conflicting answers about this that i'd like some insight from others. I just adopted the sweetest 2 year old shorthair last week and she has adjusted beautifully to her new home. She is extremely petite - she looks as though she could be a 6 or 7 month old kitten instead of an adult cat.
The vet who saw her at the shelter recommended 1/3 dry in the morning and 1/3 wet at night(both Hill Science Diet) - another person at the shelter suggested 1/4 dry night and day, every can and bag of cat food I see gives me a different amount and honestly it's a little overwhelming.
I want to make sure I feed her the best type of food and best amounts of food possible. I've been trying a few different canned foods with her but need to try to find one brand of wet and one brand of dry that I can consistently feed her. She hates the dry food I bought.
She is truly so tiny and I don't want to overfeed her. I grew up in a house where cats just ate as much dry kibble as they wanted and I want to try to have a bit more of a handle on when/how much she eats. Any insight on the best canned/dry foods as well as the best amounts would be super appreciated. I've gone for grain free with no meat by-product but I want to make sure I'm doing the best thing for her.
Thanks in advance!
