Not sure where else to go, especially since the vet is closed today.
We have 2 cats. Earlier this week, our boy cat, who really EATS, started eating very slow (super weird for him) and eventually stopped finishing his food. As time went on, he stopped eating totally, if not just a few bites.
It was odd though, because he was acting normal otherwise. He would be his regular curious self: Walking around, licking the floor as we cooked, and remained nosy as ever as we took out boxes to put up Christmas decorations. Another thing that was odd was it was almost as if he WANTED to eat, but couldn’t/didn’t want to.
He would be interested in the food as we took it out of the closet; run over as he heard the door open; but just would not eat. He would take a bite, almost jump back, and do it one more time before walking away.
We took him to the vet, who gave him B12 shots and did some scans. Did not find anything besides a slight bladder infection, so he gave him some antibiotics as well. He thinks he could have been uncomfortable from that, but wasn’t sure as nothing else was wrong.
A day later and he’s back to normal-scarfing down food aggressively as he has always done. But the problem now is, our other cat, a girl, WONT eat at all.
She seems normal as well. If anything, she’s more lively than he was. He was more lethargic, which was worrying. She seems more lively.
But essentially same situation now, but with the other cat. She won’t even entertain the food though. Won’t eat it at all. I tried a treat and she ate that, but won’t eat her dry food. Thought it might be the food itself, so we poured some tuna water over it, tried some raw tuna. We just got another, DIFFERENT dry food from the store literally just now, and she won’t eat that either. So it’s not that....
Was our boy cat sick and somehow gave it to her? We are so confused.
