Hello,
I have 2 female cats (1 and 2 years old). I adopted them from a rescue in February.
I have a business trip coming up next week where I will need to be gone approximately 5-6 days. I am worried because I have never been away from them that long before and am worried about how they will react.
I was once gone for 2 days and had my father come stay at the house. He said they hid the entire time he was there.
I was considering having a friend stop by once a day to fill the food bowls and give them clean water and scoop the boxes. My only concern with this is that I normally feed them twice a day. Neither of them are over eaters, but do you think that being fed more once a day will be problematic? I was hoping to spare them the stress of having a stranger there constantly because they are both skittish, but I want to make sure they will still be ok. I don’t think I know anyone who would be available to come by more than once a day.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
