Cat won't move, meowing long odd sounding meows when I come close. Not sure how to approach.

A few hours ago, herd 2 cats fighting across the street. Went outside and my cat and another cat were fighting briefly. The other cat walked away, seemed like it was healthy and in good shape.

I walked up to the bushes where they were and my cat was laying down and looked wore out but fine. I tried calling for him incase he was scared but he didn't want to move.

Went back to my house and put some food out for him and went back inside for a bit. Walked back out to check again and hes over in the same spot. This time when I approach he is meowing long drawn out meows, not exactly like pain but they sound odd. The closer I get the louder he carries on with the meowing. His rear legs look like they are unusually flat and not his typical posture.

I think he may have been hit by a car and injured his hind legs. Prior to the cat fight, since he hasn't moved. Usually if theres another cat around he will stand off with it or will run off.

His behavior now though makes me too nervous to approach him and try to move him. I don't want to get bit or clawed by him, especially if my theory is wrong and he has rabies or something.

Need some advice on what to do, don't want to just leave him there.
