We already took her to the vet ER and I've remained in contact with them for the past few days, but unfortunately, they can't give me any more answers. I'd like to take her to another vet one last time with an intentional list of things to test her for. So far, she's been tested her for:
- kidney issues (negative)
- glucose issues (negative)
- infection (negative, her white blood cell count came back unremarkable)
- no lung/respiratory infection (they ran x-rays)
She was, however, extremely dehydrated and they flushed her system by administering an IV for 24 hours.
Here's the thing. She's not vomiting and she doesn't have diarrhea. In fact, she's extremely lethargic and will barely get up from the spot she's lying in, but will go and use the litterbox when she needs to go. She struggles to walk, but she will go. She also has no issues eating. She'll get up and eat whatever is offered to her and has had a great appetite so far.
I've been giving her water with Pedialyte through a dropper every hour/two hours and its helped in her overall demeanor. Before I was doing this, her energy was at 0. After a whole night of giving her water with pedialyte, she explored her surroundings a little bit and even had enough energy to play-attack me. But she quickly declined back to not having any energy AT ALL.
In regards to her attitude - she's generally a very chill cat. Looking back, a lot of her floppyness may have been symptoms of whatever this is the whole time, I just saw it as a sweet personality trait of her's.
Any advice on what this could be? My current vets are at a complete loss and say they have never seen an issue like her's before.
