I just adopted a 2 year old cat who has not been trained to use the litter box before. The note her owner left for the shelter said that she has problem with pooping outside the litter box and using it.
When my cat was in a crate while driving, she pees on the towel inside. After getting her settled down in my bathroom which is separate from the other cat, i left her alone so she can crawl out of the crate and found her pee on the bath rug, the litter box is a few inches next to it.
It looks like i have to train her to use it. It’s understandable cause she is stressed and scared now but im worried later the problem will persis. Most of the posts i found are about young kittens. My cat is a young adult, does that make it harder? How do i go about this? My first cat is already litter trained when i got her
