I had this abandoned kitten in my house for a few days, before a friend of mine adopted it. It had fleas, and now I found one on the floor. What happens with fleas in the house when the animal is gone? Can they reproduce without a host? Since apparently they won't find one in a human. Will they just die out, or do I have a big problem now? Can some of my friends who have a pet, catch them and transfer them to their pet?
