Advice for cat that no longer wants to be inside after arrival of new kitten?

To give some backstory, I (20) have had my older cat since 2013, he’s a fixed male. He has always been standoffish, but when he wants, he is very sweet. I live with my parents and they decided to get a new kitten. I love the new kitten! But my cat, the older one, hates it. Since the kitten is also a male, I assumed it was because he had yet to be fixed and he would come around after. However, after he got fixed it seemed to get even worse. I personally don’t think cats should be let outside, but my parents disagree and have always raised outside/inside cats. The kitten is going to be inside only, but because the older cat was raised going outside, it is hard to keep him inside. He now never wants to be inside, only coming inside briefly to eat. He hisses at everyone when inside, and while he has yet to bite me in this state, it does become a bit scary. It breaks my heart to see this and I want him to spend more time inside. I have a separate area for him in my room, but he’s never in long enough to even go in.

Any advice on how i can get him to become less aggressive? I hate to think that maybe I should rehome him because he is clearly not happy, but i intend on moving sometime next year and would like to take him with me. I have lost hope on getting him to get along with the kitten, as I did introduce them slowly. Now i just want my cat to at least tolerate being inside the house.
