I want to note that I'm typing up this message at the emergency vet clinic.
He's not blocked, they just told me, in fact his bladder is empty. They're going to be sending me home with him and some pain medications. He is also on other medications for crystals based on a recent urinalysis and a special diet (prazosin, etc.).
But the reason I brought him in is because he suddenly (after peeing a bunch) acted distressed and went to the catbox obsessively (and a few inappropriate places) and got out only a few drops of bloody urine.
I'm still just concerned about the sudden onset of symptoms when he was fine (or acted mostly fine) the rest of the day. The vet wasn't sure what caused the sudden change.
Anyone have experience with this? Is this normal?
