My cat (F, 8 months) LIVES to go outside on walks around our courtyard. She’s not an outdoor cat but she’s a very active curious cat, so we try and take her out on a leash every day.
Recently we got a cat backpack so we could take her to new parks and places. She adapted really well, no crying, she seemed very comfortable in it even when we walked a few houses over.
I’ve only taken her outside in it twice, but both times she was totally fine until we got back towards our courtyard.
She recognizes it and gets really excited to get out and walk (I think) and starts trying to escape the backpack. Then as soon as I start to set her down (in the backpack) she pukes! She is not normally a pukey cat.
Is this motion sickness from the drop? Is she just overwhelmed? I’m torn bc picking up puke is a pain but she seemed happy to be in the backpack (relaxed body language, no meowing or panting, looking around a lot) so I don’t want to stop either.
Does anyone have insight into how to prevent this? Thanks! :)
