Introducing orphaned newborn kittens to a cat whose babies died during delivery last night

My cat gave birth for the first time last night. She had two kittens, both of whom died due to lack of oxygen because my girl took too long to deliver them. I'm going to get her spayed in two weeks, but the vet told me that it's a good idea to let her take care of any orphaned newborns so her breasts don't get sore, and so that she can play Mom.

Has anyone done this? Does it work? I'm afraid my cat will reject other kittens because she didn't even care about her own. She's completely fine and behaving totally normally right now.
