I've had him for a year or so now, and he just would.not.play...ever. (slight exaggeration, he probably would play for like 30 seconds and then stop).
My wife and I moved to a new place in September, with a balcony, so we let him out on it. I had the brilliant idea to try to play with him on it, and oh boy, it's a complete 180 degree shift!!
I used the one toy he ever played with (for 30 seconds) and he chased it, without stopping, for a solid 10 minutes. I seriously felt like it was someone else's cat.
What could explain this change of behavior? He was a colony cat before us adopting him, could it be that it's because he misses the outdoors so much? Or maybe because the surface in our condo (the old and the new) is very slippery wood and he never felt secure to play on it?
I'm flabbergasted, but oh boy am I happy!
