Pet bird?

Hi! So this is more of a hypothetical inquiry for the future. I currently am pretty filled with a betta fish, a freshwater community fish tank, a hamster, and 2 gerbils. But, I was just curious and figured I’d ask. So my dream kind of pet is one that will sit on my shoulder while I walk around and be a real “best friend” type pet. The gerbils do a great job even though I am still working on taming them, the one is super friendly. But, a bird is the literal definition of intelligent, sit on shoulder type pet, and capable of real interaction. My issue is, I have a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth for birds, reason being, my grandmother got a Sun Conure that is, well, not exactly what we expected. The bird squaks like CRAZY all day. It’s loud and obnoxious. If a bird does that I will not be able to handle it. Second thing, the Conure is not friendly at all to anyone but my grandfather. I understand most bird will much more friendly, but, I just wanted to mention that part of it to explain my bad taste with birds. Lastly for the sun conure, I notice dried bird poop EVERYWHERE in the house. Now, I am NEVER there when the bird is out, cuz if I was, I think the bird would try to kill me(it did once when I walked in not knowing it was out lol). So I’m not sure if when he is let out, if he was let free. But I do not want me bedroom filled with bird poop. I have an expensive gaming set up and nice furniture, and poop on my bed doesn’t sound pleasant. So I assume there is some catch to the poop thing Bc for such popular pets for kids, I doubt parents would want poop everywhere cuz you know the kid won’t care lol. So I just want to know, what’s the downsides to birds? Are there certain types of birds i should lean towards? My grandmother has an extra cage from a bird she had many years ago, and I’d have everything I’d need except for food and the bird pretty much. But when it comes to noise, I do not want obnoxious squalking all day or anything that keeps my up at night. I want to avoid birds that are known to be aggressive so I could have a passive bird. Also want to know about the poop situation, if there is breeds to help avoid poop going everywhere? Is there a way to avoid it? I’d take any information/insight on this because it could be a game changer for me. Thank you!
