Seeking help litter training a kitten.

We have a new kitten addition to our house of 2 existing indoor/outdoor cats. We've had her a smidge under 2 weeks and she's doing fine, the other cats are getting used to her, she seems healthy and happy as do the other cats... save for one thing: She will NOT go in a litter box.

We've tried 3 litter boxes and 3 brands of litter, including the type her first family trained her with. We've caught her in the process of looking for a spot AND after going and in both cases carried her straight to a box at which point she jumps out and runs away.... or uses the bathroom on the floor if she was interrupted. We've tried a few nights confining her to a room with nothing but her litter box, a bed and food/water and she either goes on the floor or waits till we let her out.

We haven't moved the litter boxes other than once in that first few days when we perceived the problem. She KNOWS where they are and doesn't seem afraid.... just unwilling to use them. EVENTUALLY our plan is for her to have access to outdoors like the other cats, and never planned this current situation to be permanent.

Other than one existing cat being a bit annoyed all the existing cats are carrying on with their normal routines. We've tried a handful of other little things which I won't bore you with, partially because I've read so much it's becoming a blur at this point.

It's my housemate's kitten, and this is THEIR first feline of any age It's been a LONG TIME since I had any kittens. My two current cats are 11 and I got them when they where about a year old so we're all noobs at kittening here.

Any ideas WHY she is so insistent on not using a box? Also thank you:)
