Yesterday when I arrived at my gf's house she accidentally left the inside door open so when she opened the front door to let me in I saw her cat behind her running towards the front door. He got passed her so I quickly tried to grab the cat but because I had my bicycle in my other hand my only option was to grab him by the scruff. It happened so fast that I missed the scruff and accidentally lifted him up with the skin on his side which was clearly very uncomfortable (also because he tried to scratch me).
I still feel so bad about this because it was all an accident to avoid him getting on to the street. I obviously can't say sorry because he's a cat. Will he remember this incident and hate me for it?
