Earlier today I found this marking on my cat's stomach. It's a near perfect ring, with no fur, in the exact place his umbilical cord would have been (dead center of his stomach). It looks similar to ring worm, only it's perfectly flat, is dark brown like a birthmark, has no redness or scaling, and does not appear to itch or bother him. I immediately scheduled an appointment in the morning for his vet to look at it and test for ring worm, but I'm hoping that there might be a chance it's a weird sort of umbilical scarring I've never seen before--and maybe someone on here has seen something similar on one of their cats.
We had a friend come to our home on the 4th of July who was treated for ringworm. He said his doctor told him he wasn't contagious anymore and didn't need to quarantine, he was on medication, and he was keeping the area covered. I'm really concerned that he ended up spreading ringworm to us and our cats (they're indoor only, and don't have interactions with other animals or people). So far, the spot on my cat's stomach is the only thing I've seen, and there are no other indications of ringworm on either of my two cats or my fiance and I.
Again, my cat has a vet appointment in the morning, but I hope that I'm being paranoid and someone can tell me something else this could be.
