Cat does not ever finish food

I adopted my first cat 5 months ago. She is almost 11 months old.

From when I first got her, I’ve noticed she is not very food motivated. She’d much rather play and wreck havoc on her toys then eat.

She is a SUPER active cat. Always is playing or watching birds from her window perch. Naps the right amount as well.

Right now we’re feeding her Hills Science diet food for cats up to 1 year old. This is the food she had in her shelter and the food recommended by her vet.

I could literally go days without filling up her food bowl (which is equivalent to half a cup). I decided to see how long I could go without filling it up, and it’s been since Friday and half of her food is still there.

She does have access to her food bowl all day.

She has no problem drinking water, but this food thing is starting to concern me.

I can afford the vet, but I’m worried about taking her & getting hundreds of dollars of tests done just to find out she is just not food motivated.

Should I try switching her food? Or feeding her a certain time a day & limiting her access to food?
