Am I a bad owner for doing this?

My dog has terminal cancer and she will be put down in a few weeks. I’ve known for a few months so I’ve had time to get used to the idea that she’s going to be gone.

In the meantime, she’s on medication that heightens her hunger and thirst (as well as her energy, she’s gone from normal to insanely hyper).

This means that no matter how many times I’m bringing her out everyday, she’s pooing and peeing in the house at least 4-5 times a day. I can’t lie, it’s getting a bit gross at this point.

She sleeps downstairs because she would keep me awake when she slept in my bedroom. So now, when I go downstairs, she knows I’m awake because she can hear me.

But instead of going to see her, and cleaning up her messes straight away in the morning, I make coffee and go back to bed for thirty or more minutes to prepare myself.

Am I an awful owner for doing this? I just can’t handle cleaning straight away when I get up. I feel like I’m awful because she can hear that I’m awake. The room is big enough though, it’s not like she’s forced to stand in her own mess. She sleeps on the other side of the room from where she does her business.
