We lost our cat and we’re trying so hard to stay hopeful…

Backstory - I was out on a picnic with my cat, she had a full harness vest on and a leash attached to the harness. She was sitting down on the grass and suddenly she bolted. Now since I have the leash on, naturally I panicked and pulled against the direction she was running. As I was pulling, she managed to get her front paw through the opening of the vest and slip out of the harness, running into the woods.

For context, I live about a 30 minute drive from this park. She has been missing in this secluded area of the park / woods for approximately 12 days already. Each and every single morning and night, I have drove up to try and find her, call her name, bring her favourite food / treats. She's been spotted several times by myself and others (specifically kids as this park happens to be right behind a school). Every time I approach her gently and call out to her, she runs away (even when I'm holding the smelliest cans of tuna, sardines, etc). She's usually on top of trees so she just disappears immediately and we have absolutely no chance of following her or catching up to her due to the terrain.

We have tried using a humane trap - putting a blanket over the trap, disguising the trap, setting the smelliest bait in the trap and nothing seems to be working. I open the trap every morning around 6:30 AM and close the trap around 8-9 PM (due to us catching raccoons and other animals the first couple times). Over the last couple days, there has been severe rain storms and I have been using a waterproof-tarp + cardboard to build a make-shift shelter around the trap.

At this point, I am sincerely desperate and I'm slowly losing hope, despite seeing her multiple times. It's been raining heavily and I can't stop worrying about her (I last saw her in the pouring rain out on a tree with no leaves so clearly she isn't the brightest when it comes to finding shelter). The shelter told me I'm doing everything I can but that doesn't help me bring her back at all. She doesn't respond to my voice, nor does she respond to the smelliest food, and the weather doesn't help. On top of this, the feeling of seeing your cat but being unable to do anything is devastating.

Is there anything else I can do? Will she eventually come to me when she's absolutely starving? She is microchipped but it doesn't really matter because no one can approach her without her running away.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just broken and seeking some sort of miraculous advice. I even tried tying KFC to the trap and even that didn't work.
