The cat is almost 6 months old and we adopted him when he was about 2 months old. He's neutered. No kids and no other pets.
I work from home and my partner works two days a week away from home. From the second, and I literally mean the second, my partner leaves until the time he gets back, the cat spends every waking moment meowing. No exaggeration. Literally THOUSANDS of times per day.
Because I work from home, this has caused a huge issue with me. Not only is it affecting my work, but it's driving me absolutely mad. But when my partner is home, the cat is not only quiet as can be, but also shows zero interest in our company. It's like he is content being in the same room as us but never wants any physical affection.
Even worse is that I literally can't be alone in the same room as this cat because he constantly lunges at my faces and head and tries to bite me. Again, I've tried every discipline measure I can find online and nothing breaks this behavior. He also doesn't do this shit when my partner is home.
After months of dealing with this and trying literally every solution I've found online, and having it only get worse and worse, I'm about ready to rehome this cat. But my partner, because he doesn't deal with this, isn't ready. He thinks the cat is an angel. He thinks I'm losing it (which, to be fair, I am...but not for the reasons he thinks). I'm losing my sanity over this cat.
And, yeah, for a bit I did think I was somehow the issue. But then I remembered that I've had 13 cats in my life, most of which I raised from kittens, and NONE of them behaved like this. None of them were this aggressive, this vocal, or this insane. So, no, I don't think it's me. It's this demonic cat.
I'm losing it here. I have never in my four decades of living experienced anything like this, and it's becoming a daily struggle. Nothing I've done works. I've never disliked a cat more than this one and I don't know what else to do.
