Hi Everyone! Hoping for some puppy advice. We went and picked up an almost 5 week old puppy from my husband's coworker. I know that's really young, but they were born outside & living under a porch so I couldn't in good conscience leave her there.
They said they were feeding them wet solid food, but didn't mention what kind/how much/how often. Everything i've researched so far has advised not to transition to commercial foods until 7/8 weeks old. So I purchased this GNC Weaning formula from petsmart and am feeding per instructions on the back. Her stools were solid when we brought her home yesterday, however they're now runny... probably because of the switch in food types? Any advice? Am I screwing everything up? I bought canned wet puppy food, not sure if I should be mixing that in with the weaning formula, or just sticking to the formula? I want to take her to a vet, however not sure if I should wait until 8 weeks when she can get vaccinated or if I should take her in for a general check up now. Thank you in advance, this is the first puppy i've ever really owned. (Previous adoption was 6-7 months already)
