Hi as the tittle suggests, my mother adopted a senior cat, not really that old he's about 6/7 years old, i say he is old because he has had a few surgeries on his paw, due to a tumour, and developed diabetes due to medication, over all he's very healthy and very needy doesn't want toys, just cuddles all the time, i need some help with 2 things. how to administer injections and flatulence , he's a pretty stinky cat, its his first day in my house, he as already been bathed, actually took it pretty calmly and enjoyed it, to eat the vet diabetes food i have to mix a bit of wet food with it but otherwise no problem, only problem his he farts a lot, i guess its normal due to the radical change in diet and such i just gave him the insulin shot but it was a while to give it, and i need to do it again tomorrow in the morning, anyone knows the best way to do it ? and, well on the flatulence, what things ca i do it help it out ?
Also another problem is m dog (my mother adopted him as a puppy who was going to be euthanised), i have the door closed so they only smell and sense each other but hes being very aggressive about it, and its making the cat stressed which im guessing is making him aggressive, as he swipes me with claws and hisses when we are in the kitchen which is where the food and door are.
he's not my first cat, i had one before who went on a forever tail hunt i hope, he was an outdoors cat, and this one the vet said he only has about 2/3 years max but i wanna give him a good life until he lasts!
Even tho i really did not want another animal, since i was a kid Ive had 2 dogs and 2 cats who've died, i didn't really want another animal until I'm living on my own, and i don't really like him, i don't want to just throw him away of course, i told my mom were giving him a week to adjust and if he doesn't well start looking for another family or a shelter, i feel like an asshole, but i also want him to be happy.
