There has been a stray dog hanging around my street for a a little over a year. I'd give him a little dog food and water every day since I felt bad for him. He came to associate me with that and got fairly close. Animal control has been called multiple times to catch him but he always evades them. We coerced him for maybe the fifth time last night and closed him in. He had fleas and we have other dogs so although I didn't want to traumatize him more I gave him a bath with shampoo to kill all his fleas. He hasn't left the dog bed we have since. I have to bring food and water to him. I'm not sure what to do now. Any advice would be welcome as I intend to keep him. Thank you.
