Advice on moving 15 year old cat to new house

Hello r/Pets!

Looking for some advice. I married the most amazing woman in February, and we're now in the process of moving into a new house. We'll have 2 houses to sell soon. But that isn't why I'm here :)

My wife has a 15 year old cat. Extremely anxious and skittish. Not sure how we're going to get her in the carrier to bring her the the new house. I called the vet for a mild sedative, but they said they'd need to see her first. And that's a problem. If I could get her in the carrier to go to the vet, I'd be able to bring her to the new house.

Short of traumatizing the cat but catching her with a box or something crazy like that, does /Pets have any suggestions? I, not a cat person, so I want to do this in a manner that causes the least amount of stress. And yes, I'm looking forward to becoming a pet co-owner.

Thanks!
