Cat left alone with flowering hyacinth and it was moved. Not sure if he ate any of it. Should i be worried?

My mom cut a branch off of a flowering hyacinth plant and put it in the kitchen. After washing dishes and putting on my shoes to go outside I come back and the branch is out of the glass of water she put it in and my cat is next to it. I don't know if he ate part of it or not. I know the bulbs of the plants are the most dangerous but what about the flowering parts? Also, are hyacinths toxic to cats in the seizures and death kind of way or the stomach irritation and diarrhea kind of way?
