I have contacted 2 local shelters about a cat that had babies in our shed (they both said they are at capacity..can't take our brood). This poor mama cat is Constantly pregnant. One shelter told us not to say "Feral" but call her a "community" cat. Anyway...She does not belong to us. But we see her in the neighborhood a lot. I shudder to think how many litters she has had, yet we never see kittens in the neighborhood. Until now..in our shed. They are 3 weeks old. I assume someone "gets rid of" the other litters she has had (and she has had lots of litters) or they fall prey to other creatures. I want to get her spayed. We tried to bring her into the house but she is not willing and freaked out. We have been feeding her since she had kittens. A local Spay and Neuter clinic said they will spay her for a minimum fee when she is done weaning the babies. But an outdoor cat cannot wear a cone...right?? I mean..she will get stuck somewhere. We could barely keep our own pet indoor cat in a cone after she was spayed. What will become of her if we get her spayed and she doesn't wear a cone? I feel so bad for this kitten factory mama cat.
