My cat is a healthy spayed girl. She's active and loves to play. I initiate the play and play with her at least twice a day. However, sometimes she initiates play as well. I can by the few ways:
- Dialated pupil, staring, and in a ready-to-run-or-fight stance.
- Running away as soon as i walk and looking/running back to make sure I chase her.
- Bringing one of her toys to me.
It is great and all but sometimes she decides to bite instead. Like, today, I was just trying to pick something up from my bed, and she bit my butt. And she sometimes bite if I don't reciprocate her other ways of playing. After a bite, she usually waits for a reaction, and I ignore her for a bit. All is good except that I tend to develop scars and hyperpigmentation from them.
Is there a way I can prevent her from biting when asking for playtime? She tries to bite when I trim her nails and brush her but that's because she hates it. But this is playtime. I don't want her biting me to initiate it.
I'm hoping someone has any suggestions. Also, she is clicker trained. She can sit and go down, and "shake" paws with me. So, if it requires a clicker, I can probably try it out.
