Just now after leaving my friend’s house who has several indoor/outdoor kitties, I have discovered her house/kitties have fleas! I know this bc of the itchy, red bumps on my skin and am trying desperately to avoid my own kitty and self from getting them too. Immediately when I got home I showered, put my clothes in the wash, and gave my kitty a flea treatment. But what about my purse (and it’s contents)? I dumped my purse out in my garage and put the purse in a trash bag but what now? What’s the likelihood those fuckers are clinging to my purse and the other non-washable belongings I brought there? Another concern I have is my car since I had to get in my car to get from her home to my own. Could they have jumped off of me/my clothes and into my car where they’ll jump back on to me tomorrow when I drive to work (causing a flea-me-car-me-work cycle)? Or am I just being a paranoid, overthinking crazy person, lol? Unfortunately, I am one of those people with sensitive skin and allergies to everything so I always have ridiculous reactions to most bites thus causing my current state of worry. Currently on my leg, I have a huge itchy, inflamed area of bites as well as some bites on my ass (just FYI). And obviously I don’t want my lovely little kitty girl to have to suffer through them either. Also... should I tell her? I think I probably should but she’s sensitive (I am too, lol) and I don’t want to hurt her feelings or make her feel like I won’t go over there anymore. Additionally, I know she’s low on funds and considering she has multiple kitties that would need treatment I’m worried she can’t afford to treat them all. Hopefully she’d be able to get them all treated and eliminate the problem but if she can’t/doesn’t what steps should I take when I go over there? Any body have any advice or experience? Thanks y’all!
