PS: This is not meant to be like a r/petloss post, but more of one asking for advice.
I live in a rural area, lots of room a dog could want to roam. Sounds good, right? Wrong. In my 15 year life, I've lost 4 dogs, all dead because they ran into the road and got hit. I had 2 dogs who were sisters, unfortunately, one of them was hit Saturday. She didn't even make it to 1. Since then, I've tried to keep the remaining dog on a leash (even though she hates it), and the two times she has gotten away from me, she goes right to the road. I don't know what to do anymore... I hate to keep her on a leash with all of this explorable land, but I don't think there is any other way.
