Is it a bad idea to give the wrong pet name to an insurence company?

So my cat is getting older and has had some health issues (bronchitis/high thyroid). He is on thyroid meds right now and because this can mask kidney issues, he has a kidney test in a couple of days. I am buying pet insurance tonight, but anything he has before and after 30 days of buying it is considered 'pre existing' and isnt covered. So as far as his appointment in a few days, I am going to ask the vet what the best thing to do is, or if I can safely put the appointment off a month so any kidney issues are covered. But our vet also has 15 years worth of his health records, so I have been CONSIDERING giving the insurence company the wrong name and saying its a different cat....maybe my other cat ran away and I found this one haha. The only issues I think it might present are proof of his neutering/shots. What do you guys think? Are there problems with this I am not considering? He is microchipped, not sure if they will ask the vet for that number though
