Hi, I adopted a cat two weeks ago and brought him to his first vet visit today. We thought we adopted a healthy 2 year old male cat but a vet visit revealed he has significant dental issues and some eye and respiratory infections. He has gingivitis and needs several teeth to be extracted and all of this has added up to a hefty $2000 bill. He is also probably around 6 years old instead of 2, which is fine. but I had no idea about his health issues prior to adopting him and was told by the shelter that cats with dental issues like his are usually put on hold before they can be adopted so he must have missed their examinations. Im feeling a little overwhelmed right now and wanted to know if anyone has some advice to share. Thanks!
