Cat keeps meowing at nothing in the bathroom and near the front door - how do I make it stop??
So I have a Ragdoll Mix and she's 8 months old now. She's never done this until Friday night, and now she's waking me and my partner up in the nights by constantly half meowing/half moaning. We've tried ignore her when she does it, but now she's starting to meow/moan even louder. I just went to go tell her off for it and she just starts rolling on the floor and purring.
It's driving me nuts, she'll do it for most of the night and even in the mornings. She's a house cat, so she never goes out and she's never peed anywhere but in her litter tray until yesterday when she peed on the bathroom rug. She also hasn't been neutered yet, could that be linked?
I just want to know a way to stop her from walking off and meowing through the house all night. What's the best way to punish her for it, if at all? She doesn't seem to understand when I punish her, until I lock her in the living room then she just meows and scratches at the door until someone lets her out. And she'll persist on that for a good few hours.
