I got my cat Baloo from a shelter where he had been for a while after getting two toes amputated on his front right paw. He doesn’t seem to have any pain when I touch it, although he doesn’t like getting his nails cut so he gets irritated when I touch any of his paws for too long.
I’ve noticed that when he sits he will hold his right paw up, and sometimes when moving from one surface to another he will avoid using his right paw. Again, he doesn’t seem to have any pain when I touch it and he doesn’t ever cry out or anything like that.
Is this just adaption to life with one weaker/smaller paw, or should I be worried that he is possibly in pain? I would normally take him to the vet that did his amputation but I moved to a new town a few hours away. Thank you!
