I have a beautiful kitten named Matilda who is approx 9-10 months old. She was found in an alley way when she was about 5/6 weeks old and we took her in. When we first brought her home she would eat everything, all of her food and then she would try and move onto the other two cats bowls (two different types of wet food) and try to finish off theirs. Given her rough start we thought she would never have a problem with food and we be a 'greedy' cat.
Gradually over the last couple of months she's really gone off wet food. We give her two meals a day of wet food and leave out dry food throughout the day and night. She started not eating the food but licking off all of the sauce/gravy, leaving all of the meat. She continued this for a while so we changed her food a couple of times and she did the exact same thing with all of them. Now she barely even has the sauce. She will run to her bowl as if shes hungry and excited but then has absoutley no interest once she's looked at/smelt it.
She will eat the dry food now and again as she must get hungry but I don't think she's having nearly enough to manage off dry food alone.
She seems like her happy and playful self, I just worry she's not eating enough and wondered if anyone has any suggestions of what could be wrong and what we could try?
Thanks in advance!
